As a native Mississippian, CEO Cindy Hollar cares deeply about her home state so she is passionate about helping to provide solutions to the state’s education challenges. She is joined by a veteran teacher and central office leader. Together, they want to help Mississippi schools shine!

Cindy Hollar is the Chief Executive Officer of Training and Education in the Twenty First Century (TE21, Inc.). In 1999, Ms. Hollar co-founded TE21 after leaving the corporate world to begin a quality training and education company that would have a positive impact on the lives of struggling families. Her work with the Governor’s Youth Council in South Carolina on solutions for juvenile crime prevention led to the concept of combining business training tools and educational products to help families gain job and literacy skills. Inspired by her own daughter’s success overcoming reading difficulties, Ms. Hollar refocused the direction of the company to specialize in providing high-quality software programs and professional development to help schools improve the educational experience and outcomes for all students. Early in her professional career, Ms. Hollar worked as an elementary school teacher.

Vernita Wilson’s most recent education experience was as director of professional development for Jackson Public Schools. Previously, she taught high school English. She has facilitated language arts and professional development presentations at state and national conferences.

In South Carolina, TE21 is represented by two educators who consider themselves “solutions specialists” because their goal is to work with school and district leaders to find solutions to challenges. They bring years of experience in local and state leadership roles to assist you in implementing TE21 solutions

Nancy Ford’s 33-year career with Orangeburg School District Five includes service at all levels from teacher to assistant superintendent. She was a successful elementary school principal prior to joining the central office where she was director of staff development and then assistant superintendent for curriculum, instruction & assessment.

Debra Young Cole is a former mathematics teacher and central office administrator in Berkeley County Schools. She was a mathematics teacher specialist at the South Carolina Department of Education for four years and also was director of middle grades acceleration in Charleston County for a year.

North Carolina’s TE21 sales team includes veteran educators and a former early childhood education representative. The team members are former Principals of the Year and have years of classroom and ed leadership experience. They know the TE21 products because they used them in their schools!

Nancy Hester has years of experience as a successful principal and district administrator. She served as associate superintendent, chief information officer, and executive director for Durham Public Schools after years as a classroom teacher and principal. She was Principal of the Year for the district and regional runner-up when she served as a middle school principal.

Heyward Ledford joined TE21 in January 2012 with a background in sales and project management. He was most recently with Wolfpen Associates after working with Kaplan School Supply for 10 years. He was sales and marketing director for the company.
