Sales Representative of the Year
Vernita Wilson, account executive in Mississippi, is the TE21 Sales Representative of the Year. CEO Cindy Hollar made the announcement at a sales meeting on Jan. 19. Wilson joined TE21 in 2011. She was formerly with Jackson Public Schools. Congratulations!
TE21 Introduces New Western NC Account Executive
Cindy Hollar, CEO of TE21 Inc., announces that Heyward Ledford, a resident of Waynesville, NC is the new account executive for the company. Ledford will represent TE21’s slate of products, including the Academy of READING and MATH and CASE21 assessment products.
Ledford comes to TE21 with a proven background in sales and project management. He was most recently with Wolfpen Associates in Waynesville. He had close to a 10-year career with Kaplan School Supply where he was achieved first in sales and profit for 4 years prior to becoming corporate sales and marketing director for the company.
Hollar said TE21 is pleased to welcome a Western NC resident and native to its sales team. “Heyward Ledford went to college in Western NC and he and his family reside in Waynesville. He is very familiar with the schools and districts in that area. I am confident that he will ensure that principals and administrators in Western NC recognize the value of the products that we represent and provide.”

TE21 Announces Academy Star Student Contest
TE21 is proud to announce the 3rd annual “Academy Star Student” Contest. TE21’s training and support team recognizes how hard your students have been working and we would like to reward that hard work. Be on the lookout for an Academy Star Student Award flyer that will be coming your way. We will be raffling off prizes students who finish their entire Academy of READING/MATH training program and show growth on their post-test. There will be several winners from each state so make sure to send your Academy Graduate names to your TE21 trainer. Best of luck to all of our students!
Council of Administrators of Special Education (CASE) endorses School Specialty Literacy and Intervention’s Academy of READING & MATH
EPS/School Specialty recently announced that the Council of Administrators of Special Education (CASE) has endorsed the Academy of MATH as a comprehensive intervention software tool designed to supplement existing math curriculum. In April, it was announced that CASE had endorsed the Academy of READING. Both products meet or exceed the CASE criteria for intervention software tools for struggling students.
The Academy of READING software program assists educators in developing intervention strategies that enable struggling students (especially special populations) to build fluency in the foundation skills of reading. Academy of MATH is a comprehensive intervention software tool designed to supplement existing math curriculum.
TE21 Inc. is the sole source resource seller of the Academy of READING & MATH in South Carolina, North Carolina, Mississippi, and Southern Virginia.
CASE is an international
professional educational organization that
is affiliated with the Council for

It’s
time for back-to-school and a great time to
update your A+ software! American Education
Corporation occasionally provides updates to
your A+ software which need to be downloaded
to the standards and subjects you have
installed within your software. The
beginning of a new school year is a great
time to do this.
These downloads are
available on the internet using the Online
Subjects/Standards Updater in the
administration window of the software. If
you need assistance, documentation is
available in the Information Library under
the customer support tab at
www.amered.com, by emailing technical
support at
support@amered.com or by calling
1-800-222-2811 and asking for technical
support.
Former
Superintendent and U.S. Education
Department Leader Joins TE21
Dr. Carl E. Harris, most recently the Deputy Assistant
Secretary for the U.S. Department of Education, is joining TE21 as a
consultant. Dr. Harris also is a former Superintendent in North Carolina.
In his new role, Dr. Harris will assist school and
district officials in learning about and using TE21 and CASE21 products to
improve student performance. As a school administrator in a district that
used the Academy of READING and MATH and benchmark assessments, Carl
Harris knows the value of these tools in the classroom.
Cindy Hollar, TE21 CEO, said, “Carl Harris is a school
leader who understands the impact data and technology can have in a
school’s ability to meet student needs. We are thrilled that he is joining
our efforts to ensure that teachers, principals, and district
administrators understand the impact of our products and services.”
Dr. Carl Harris was appointed Deputy Assistant Secretary
for Policy and State Technical Support of the Office of Elementary and
Secondary Education at the U.S. Department of Education in January 2010.
Prior to that appointment, Harris was superintendent of Durham Public
Schools, one of the 10 largest districts in NC. He also served as
superintendent of Franklin County Schools. South
Carolina Teacher Wins 2011 Teacher of Excellence Award for Academy of MATH
Shannon Holland, a teacher in
the Richland 2 school district in South Carolina, is the 2011 Teacher of
Excellence Award for Academy of MATH. She teaches math/science to fifth
graders at Sandlapper Elementary School. Shannon was nominated by
Principal Linda Hall. In announcing that Shannon won the award, School
Specialty commended Shannon for her leadership, enthusiasm for the Academy
and for her students’ growth. Shannon directs the school’s summer program,
opens her classroom before school for students to work on their Academy
programs, and is a leader in using the Academy in her school. Shannon will
receive an Amazon gift card and materials from EPS/School Specialty and
Intervention. TE21 is proud to partner with Sandlapper Elementary School
for Academy of READING and MATH support.
